10th LESSON (6 min., 2005)

A collaboration between Will Redman and Joanna Raczynska, this film in a video uses bad timing to draw out a joke.

Joanna Raczynska earned her Masters degree inDocumentary by Practice (with merit) at the University of London, Royal Holloway College in 2001, and since September 2002 have served as Media Arts Director at Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center in Buffalo, NY (www.hallwalls.org).

With her own video and film work she's interested in blurring states of time and arousing the viewer to question what historic facts state, imply, and hide. Joanna has written about media arts for The Squealer (published by Squeaky Wheel) and other publications including Buffalo's Artvoice; The Kansas City Review; Washington DC's City Paper; Link: A Critical Journal on the Arts in Baltimore and the World; and The Washington Review of the Arts. In 2005, she became a very grateful recipient of an award from CEC Artslink for a new video, Good Faith Effort: Free Elections, shot in Warsaw, Poland.
